More Information about Nia Wyn

Welsh neo soul artist Nia Wyn has a talent for raw and powerful storytelling. Set within a kind of unorthodox, engrossing vocal, immediately marking her out against the backdrop of emerging young female artists coming out of the UK – and conjures a very exciting defiant charisma that’s both hard and warm. Growing up in North Wales, Nia was exposed to a wide range of music from northern soul, the jazz-blues of Billie Holiday to hip hop icons Nas and Lauryn Hill.

Having worked with Paul Weller and supported both Weller and Paloma Faith live, Nia has attracted support from the likes of DIY, Wonderland, CLASH, EARMILK, BBC R1, 6 Music, BBC Introducing and Radio Wales. In October 2020, Nia's track Who Asked You was included in the FIFA 21 soundtrack, and she performed on EA SPORTS' World Premiere live stream event to promote the game's release. In March 2021 she released her second EP Take A Seat digitally and on vinyl, gaining support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, 6 Music, DIY, CLASH and Earmilk.

In July 2021, Nia was awarded with a PPL Momentum Music Fund grant by PRS Foundation, and joined Paul Weller on his sold out 2021 UK tour. This year has seen Nia release her new EP Magical Thinking via French indie label Unity Group, following a performance at Glastonbury Festival (as a finalist of their Emerging Talent Competition). Nia will also be performing at Lytham Festival (opening for Paul Weller) and Latitude this summer, topped off by her own headline show at the Courtyard Theatre in London on 28 September.
